tropical home fragrance

Scent:
Botanical notes create an accord to recall flora species that have been lost in tropical forests, and an extraordinary composition of notes engender an undiscovered, mystery fruit. Celebrating the colourful diversity of the rainforest's past and a hopeful future. Natural ingredients: Ginger, Ylang-Ylang.

"The image I had in mind was of someone walking through this intensely humid rainforest with a myriad of life surrounding them.

The top of this fragrance is not high up in the forest canopy but at a human scale. This scent is a celebration of the variety of delicious fruits growing at arm's reach. A quince accord, African ginger and peach altogether create this delicious and mouth watering, mystery fruit.

In the heart is gardenia, a lovely floral which leads into the orchid accord, resting on a base of vanilla and soft woods.”

Materials:

Fragranced rapeseed wax candle with a woven cotton wick.  Recyclable European glass jar coloured with water-based paint.  Engraved European solid ash lid.  Oil blends designed and formulated in the UK.

Packaging:

Carbon balanced cardboard box containing foil detail. Fully recyclable. Designed and manufactured in the UK.

  • Always trim the wick before burning. 5mm will give the best results.
  • To get the most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface of the candle melts. This is most important the first time you light the candle.
  • Make sure there is no debris sitting on the wax before lighting. Do not burn for more than 2 hours at a time.
  • Do not leave candle burning unattended. Do not set in a draft. Keep away from children, curtains and pets.
  • Always protect the surface that the candle sits upon (with a wood or ceramic plate, for example).
  • Do not burn your candle all the way down. Always leave at least 5 mm of non-molten wax at the bottom.
  • This candle contains lots of natural ingredients. It should be kept out of direct sunlight and used within 6 months of purchase.

Rainforest

I’m palm trees and orchids. I’m tropical breeze. I’m red ginger in full bloom, bright yellow Ylang-Ylang and soft fuzzy peach. I’m a symphony of colour, a vibrant concert of buzzes, cricks and hums. I’m precious woods, shaded by a canopy of diversity.

6% Of The Earth Surface

Save The Rainforest

The Earth’s oldest living ecosystems are rainforests, with some that are 70 million years old. They are astonishingly diverse with flora & fauna and we were very clear early in the design process that florals were an important scent note.

A tropical forest with fruits, flowers and greenery featured strongly in our mood boards and this is the path we followed for Rainforest.

Fresh Ginger & peach

feeling Tropical

The top notes of this fragrance are not high up in the forest canopy but at a human scale, where deliciously sweet and juicy fruits are growing within reach.

Rather than going for a naturalistic interpretation of a specific fruit, we created a quince accord and added African ginger and peach - so altogether you find a delicious mouth watering, but also tart, mystery fruit.

Ylang Ylang & Gardenia

Fragrant Florals

Our perfumer had watched a documentary about the discovery of a species of orchid in the rainforest, thought to be extinct. He had an idea early on in the design process about the scent of a lone orchid, the last one in existence, meandering through the other notes. Orchids are amongst the most endangered species in the rainforests and an accord was placed respectfully at the heart of this blend. Paired with Ylang Ylang and Gardenia which rest on a base of soft musks.

Scent design by Perfumer Harry Sherwood. Hand blended in small batches in the south of England.
